MCA Scar Treatment

MCA Scar Treatment

MCA stands for (Multit-repannic Collagen Actuation), but you may have heard the term, dry needling or micro-needling.

MCA scar treatment is carried out in a clinical, sterile environment, with the use of a specialist tattoo machine, using a dry needle technique.  This means that we don’t use a micro-needling device or any pigment/colour, as we do with tattooing.

The treatment consists of a needle or multiple needles entering the surface layers of the skin, causing minor trauma, which then stimulates blood flow to the area.  The process causes minor punctures, triggering the body to repair itself, producing collagen, melanin and elastin in order to fill the micro wounds – therefore promoting further healing.

While this isn’t a total scar removal treatment (no such thing exists) it can improve the look, feel, firmness and appearance of scars considerably.

What happens after an MCA Scar Treatment?

Depending in where on the body is the scar is, there is usually no down time.  The wound begins the healing process, with oxygen being its best friend! We try not to cover or occlude the treated area for 24 to 48 hours.  Just keep it clean and aired and let the body do its thing! After this time a healing balm will be used to hydrate the area and promote further healing. Micro scabs will appear and gently exfoliate away.

New tissue grows into the damaged skin and collagen, elastin and melanin production is stimulated as part of this new healing process.

·     Loose and sunken stretch marks fill out and appear smoother and firmer

·     Discoloured scars start to normalise and skin tone/colour evens out

·     Scars that are raised and bumpy flatten out and become less visible

·     Tight scars relax, becoming less restricted

·     Improve the texture and appearance of acne or chicken pox scars

·     Areas of scar numbness may begin to have returned feeling.

·     Improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and sun damage

This treatment is fantastic for anyone who would like to improve the appearance and feel of scars, burns and stretch marks. While there is no guarantee as to the exact results, most clients will notice a marked improvement after just one treatment.  Typically, a course of treatment is 3-4 treatments to be carried out 4-6 weeks apart.

In essence: -

Natural Collagen and Elastin Boost: - Promotes the skin's own production of these essential proteins for a more youthful and firm appearance.

Re-pigmentation: - Stimulates the skin to produce its own natural melanin for scars and stretch marks.

Minimally Invasive: - Involves a pattern of tiny needles rather than (destructive) treatments, leading to quicker healing and less downtime.

Improved Skin Texture and Tone: - Results in a smoother, more even, and radiant complexion.
